Being a photographer is very hard, especially in rural areas. I must confess that a lot of clients don’t always go for me to be their photographer due to a couple of reasons, such as the fact that I am a disabled photographer (that’s ok because I get to see them being surprised) and because where I am in a rural area. With very low populations, there are other photographers. Hence, it is overcrowded, which means the people around here often go for a well-known photographer instead of us photographers who are a bit less known. Because of that, just like many other photographers who live in rural, I, too, struggle to get clients. As I stated, especially in a rural area, clients often would choose and go to the one that is the most known or oldest photographer in the area that has been photographing for decades rather than professional photographers that just started or young that have been a photographer for a few years. However, I have been a professional photographer since 2013, which is now over a decade. I am somewhat new compared to the other photographers who have been doing it in this rural area for several decades. This means fewer clients, which equals hardly any income to afford some gear such as another professional body camera or upgrade my current camera; the same goes for computer/laptop, tripod, lighting systems, other accessories, advertising, paying for events (so I can take some pictures at some events that I am not hired to do – such as hotel room, vehicle rental, gasoline, etc.), transportation, more gear, camera bags, website (to maintain the website, for server, more features, cost of a domain, etc.), some funds for photo competitions and a lot more. Just because I happen to live in a rural area that only captures the clients that would be willing to give other photographers or me a chance to show them that we can do as good or better than that very well-known local photographer does not mean that I would give up because I am very passionate in photography so I am going to continue doing what I love and have a passion for. But still, as you know, passion does not bring in money, and passion does cost a lot, depending on what they are. I am asking for your support to continue my passion and photography career. I don’t only plan to be a local photographer, but I would also like to be a traveling photographer, which costs a lot of money I do not have. So, if you have any spare in your change and don’t mind donating them to me/Joshie’s Photography, I would greatly appreciate that! Even a dollar, five dollars, ten, twenty, or other would be greatly appreciated. If you are donating, I thank you very much from the bottom of my heart!
To donate, you can do so through PayPal, which I have set up at the top of the page here, but if you do not want to donate money but want to help/contribute the gears that I need as a photographer, then please do which I have set up an Amazon wishlist for Joshie’s Photography at the top of the page!
